FOOD COMPETITION WAIVER:
I am 18 years of age or older as of the date of the Contest. I have valid photo identification to prove my age, which I will furnish to the Contest organizers or their designee upon request.
I am voluntarily participating in this event, without force, manipulation, or coercion. I may freely refuse to participate or cease participation at any time or for any reason.
I agree to abide by all Contest rules, to compete in a safe and reasonable manner, and to accept all judges’ rulings.
I understand the health and associated risks inherent in eating contests and in the consumption of large quantities of food and calories over both short and extended periods of time.
I certify that I am in sound medical condition capable of participating in the contest without risks to myself or others. I have consulted with qualified persons in the medical profession and obtained clearance for me to participate in this Contest and similar eating contests. If I feel unwell in any way prior to or during the contest, I agree to cease participation immediately.
I expressly understand that entry and participation in the Contest and all related events and activities, including, without limitation: travel to the Contest, time spent before, during, and after the Contest, time spent in and around the area of the Contest, as well as my performance in the Contest, shall be at my own risk and I assume sole and complete responsibility and liability for all such risks without limitation.
I understand that I may be photographed or filmed at any time in relation to this event with or without notice. The Company may use such media as the Company, its parents, management company, partners, or affiliates deem appropriate. The Company maintains the right to take, edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, distribute, and make use of any and all pictures or video taken of me to be used in and/or for promotional materials including but not limited to newsletters, flyers, posters, brochures, advertisements, press kits, and submissions to journalists, websites, social networking sites, and other print and digital communications as determined by the Company without payment or any other consideration. These materials shall become the property of the Company and will not be returned. This authorization extends to all languages, media, formats, and markets now known or hereafter devised. This authorization shall continue indefinitely.
I hereby completely, irrevocably, and unconditionally release and forever discharge the Company and its present and former agents, employees, officers, directors, shareholders, principals, predecessors, alter egos, partners, parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, attorneys, insurers, successors and assigns (collectively “Released Parties”), from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, expenses, suits, discrimination or other charges, demands, debts, liens, damages, costs, attorneys’ fees, prejudgment or other interest, grievances, injuries, actions or rights of action of any nature whatsoever now or in the future which I, my heirs, representative, executors, administrators, or any other persons may make while acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate arising in any way out of or in connection with the Contest.
I fully acknowledge and understand that I do not have any right to participate in this Contest or its related activities and I am being permitted to participate in consideration of my execution of this document. The Company retains the right to cancel, terminate, or prematurely end this contest, refuse my entry, or terminate my participation for any reason whatsoever, at any time.
I further acknowledge and agree that I understand each of the terms and conditions of this document and that I have been afforded an opportunity to have this document reviewed by counsel of my own choosing.
